TURNING THE UNIT ON AND CONTROLLING POSITIONING The slit-lamp is turned on and off at the control mounted below the table on the right side. The light intensity is controlled by the small knob to the right and in front of the joystick. The movement of the slit-lamp biomicroscope laterally and in and out is controlled by the joystick. The vertical movement is by twisting the the joystick-clockwise to raise and counter-clockwise to lower. The unit can be locked so it does not move by the small knob on the left side of the joystick. This should be locked when not in use so the unit is not damaged when it is swung out of the way if on the stand or when the table is moved.
